Kia's scavenger hunt throughtout LA to search for a celebrity, Christina Milian, in their new 2012 Rio 5-door was an awesome test of the car's new features. The video of the trip can be viewed and commented on here: .
The navigation features, which are my personal favorite, I'm sure was a key part of the adventure.
Using Microsoft's UVO Technology the teams of 2 best friends, used voice navigation to visit 5 places for clues:
The Historic Griffith Park Merry-Go-Round: to answer trivia questions
Amoeba Records: to find a hidden Christina Milian CD
The Famous Rodeo Drive: counting the exact number of palm tress
Pink's Hot Dogs: just to order, and clean your plate (Probably the hardest challenge, because I'd had to try every celebrity dog they serve!)
Hollywood Blvd's Famous Roosevelt Hotel: where the teams had to race to the Penthouse to meet Christina Milian
Just imagine: You tell the car where you want to go...and, it actually tells you how to get there. I'm not one of those guys who's too proud to ask for directions, but never again would we fellas have to worry about our wives or girlfriends telling us to stop and ask.
The Kia 2012 Rio 5-door also uses rear camera display. So, wives and girlfriends, never again do you have to worry about explaining the dent in the bumper! OK, that's just an LOL!
On the serious side, just checkout these features on the Rio Explorer Page . If I had this opportunity, I don't think I could give the car back! Much less stay in LA. "Rio: Take me to the Grand Canyon, then Mount Rushmore, and Niagara Falls!"
